10/19/2011SWF Wins Award
Walking through the corporate office you will notice a slight difference to the glass table at the top of the stairs. It may not be a huge difference but the meaning behind the award speaks volumes. The award was presented to Sure Winner Foods by Nestle and accepted by Keith Benoit, Paul Godin and Jerry Merrill. Dubbed the Zero Sales award, Sure Winner was recognized because of all the freezers Sure Winner maintains and operates out of accounts, only 1% were at zero sales. Nestlé’s goal for most accounts is roughly between 3-5% of zero sales for freezers, thus Sure Winner Foods superceded Nestlé’s goals and expectations. However, Sure Winner Foods would have not been recognized or received this stunning achievement without the hard work and dedication of one person. Tim Sawyer has worked relentlessly for the past two years to rein in what was then an out of control freezer inventory. Hunting down lost freezer after lost freezer and working to institute a sustainable inventory coding system, Tim has transformed what was once consider a nightmare to a now manageable freezer list and inventory system. When asked how he felt about the award Tim simply stated. “It was not just me. This award was a team effort from supervisors to area managers and merchandisers. Everyone pitched in when needed and got it taken care of.” On that note congratulations to all who were involved with what once eluded us a year ago, and a big Thank You to Tim Sawyer for his leadership and persistence!
